 Stationary tower cabin systems:
Since 1967, Zepter has delivered and mounted standard and prefabricated tower cabs which are developed by Zepter construction team.
Our tower programme comprises 9 standard sizes which usually fulfill the customer’s expectations. The programme is also a planning criteria for architects and construction managers. The delivery of customized sizes and designs is possible everytime.
In 1967 Zepter has developed the towercabins in close colaboration with the former „Bundesanstalt für Flugsicherung-BFS“ todays DFS. Our tower cabs are not only in accordance with the guidelines of BFS, but also with the international guidelines of ICAO.
The standard and prefabricated cabs are deliverable in 9 different sizes:

Bearing structure and cladding
- The base construction of the cab consists of a steel-platform with revolving outer railing (completey hot-dip galvanised). The welded steel bearing structure is composed of special hollow profiles and steel profiles according to static calculations.
- The hot-dip galvanised equipment carrier on top of the cab consists of a special tubing system which, on the one hand leads off the static loads of all sensors and roof structures, and on the other hand, the tubing system serves the weatherproof guiding of all cables. The circular beam is therefore sufficiently furnished with all necessary tube sockets, flanges and revision openings.
- The roof system consists of a combination of sound- and heat-absorbing materials with an integrated vapor trap, conforming to DIN. The sealing is a result of first class evalon-foil which is additionally protected by special protection mats and a final layer of concrete paving slaps as a protection against mechanical loads.
- The exterior cladding is made of separate extruder profiles. The attic- and hand rail- panels consist of aluminum-sandwich-elements, which can be invisibly screwed by means of terminal strips in the same way the glazing is being fixed. Because of the thermal disconnection this construction ensures a system that is free of any thermal bridges. By using EPDM-sealings, an excellent visual appearance can be achieved and a change of panels and glazings is feasible anytime. The cladding is weatherproof powder-coated, colours according to RAL.
- The revolving glazing is made of insulated glass. Optionally, sun-protection-glasses and sound-absorbing-glasses (up to 50dB) are available.
- The exterior platform is used as a catwalk with diagonal gridirons and outer railing. If necessary the installation of an emergency hatch into the floor is possible. The access to the roof is granted by means of an aluminum ladder with protective cage. Starting with cabin size CK-N1 we can provide the cabs with a folding-ladder and a hatch leading to the cabins roof.
Interior fittings
- The interior cladding of the cab is based on the standpoints of minimization of reflexions and on the optimization of the total room acoustics.
- The suspended ceiling is made of a perforated and sound-absorbing cassette-system, in an anthracite colour shade. Also the aluminum-window sills and pillar claddings are in anthracite colour shade.
- The interior lighting is carried out by means of pattern-cassette-lights, integrated into the ceiling. Also integrated into the ceiling are anti-glare and dimmable ceiling-spots above the workstations.
- The grab cladding below the window sills is made of acoustic panels F30.
- The floor of the cab is important for the cabling. Therefore it is made of various single panels as a computer floor. The bottom-covering (F30) can be carried out in different materials.
